I'm going to share some of my personal insights into what I've learned about how to shop for groceries online. Delivery is not expensive; in most cases it is priced at either a very reasonable nominal fee or totally free.
Online grocers are begging for your grocery dollars. In order to be competitive with the rest of the supermarkets in your local area, they need to offer something that your local stores can not. What do they offer? A much more pleasant shopping experience than you are used to.
How do online supermarkets do that? In two ways that your local grocer can not, personalized service and free home delivery.
How can you get free delivery from online grocery stores? With a coupon code found online. Internet grocery markets run specials almost monthly to stimulate sales. Coupons codes for both discounts and free delivery are the norm. Some stores now offer free delivery with a minimum purchase of around $150 or slightly under.
I get asked a lot if the prices are higher than the regular supermarket to compensate for the delivery costs. Sometimes yes and sometimes no, it depends on the online market so shop around.
How about coupons, printable coupons, online coupons and discount coupons can I still use those? Generally not, but some online grocers do accept them. The list of who takes them changes all the time, so it is best to refer to the store policies before deciding to stop for up to the minute coupon policies.
Whether just starting to grocery shop online, or being a veteran of home delivery service, learning how to shop for groceries online is worth the time for all the savings you can have.
